Seaside

Just an hour from London by train takes you to Brighton. A truly English seaside town. Complete with fun park on the pier and a seaside palace that seems to have been inspired by Indian and Middle eastern fantasies the prince regent and his architect had in the 1800's.

It's nice to see people out enjoying themselves. Where were you when you took this photo? I'm curious.

Well, sadly, on this side of the pond, Brighton is just a Boston neighborhood, a pretty unremarkable one, I'm afraid. And not even close to a body of water! Sigh.

I just checked and all the Brightons in US (CO, MI, IL, TN, IA, MO, MA, NY) are landlocked and only the one in Michigan is near a body of water (a pond!).

(That seaside palace is a bit too... dunno, um, Disney-like.)

I forgot to say that I like your photo a lot. Lovely light. And you even caught a neat flock of birds :).

The photo was taken from the pier, looking back.
