As you come out of Kings Cross station, head towards Grays Inn Road and look up. On top of a building you will see this light house. No-one really knows its history. There are a few theories floating around none of which have been verified. It is known there was an Oyster Bar in the ground floor of the building and some thought it was a folly to identify it, in much the same way as the golden arches mark MacDonalds. This theory is now dismissed. Other theories include a clock tower and a helter-skelter tower. These too have been dismissed. The building along with others in the area are all to be renovated as part of the gentrification of the area since the upgrading of St Pancras (where the Eurostar now arrives in London).

Great shot! If it were a recent addition, the history would be known, more than likely. Maybe the building was built by an old sea captain!
That's great.
I love the light-houses and this one is cool..- did you remark it looks like it has a human face :)
Maybe the architect just liked lighthouses? It is very cool though!
Have a nice night!
Interesting! I've never had to get off at King's Cross so hadn't seen that before!
