This is such a reminder of childhood. I can't recall the last time i saw an ice cream van. They always seemed to be called tony's or andre's when I was younger. Buttercup is amuch sweeter name.
Great post, I miss that kind of ice cream vans, now in Mexico City don't see it any more, I don't now why, guess is not a good business. On the other hand, there are chains of ice cream stores all over the city.

I think I used to call one of my girlfriends Buttercup!! I could go for an ice cream right now.
Haha... Do they play loud music when they come about? They do that in Leeds to attract customers. :D

Yes, we have them here too (which reminds me that I've yet to photograph one). It's hard to find good ice cream in Boston, too. :(
BTW, Mo, is the new pavilion in Bedford Square a permanent fixture?

Hmmmm.... the name sounds very apt. And somehow very 'English'!
