Leicester Square once the gardens of the the 2nd Earl of Leicester
(around 1632), known as Leicester fields in the early 1700's, where its notoriety was for the fighting of duels. Now famous for movies theaters. China town to one side and the west end theatres to the other. An area for celebrity spotting.

I saw Gary Glitter in Leicester Square once. And hasn’t that story lost its lustre!
I had to open it up to see Jim' diving statues - they are quite magnificent. Is there a story behind them? When you look at the larger image it is astounding how many things in the picture are red. Quite a joy to look at.
I have to knoe to where did you take this from. It's a a terrific overview. Not used to seeing this area from this angle, it's fabulous.
