Leicester Square

Leicester Square once the gardens of the the 2nd Earl of Leicester (around 1632), known as Leicester fields in the early 1700's, where its notoriety was for the fighting of duels. Now famous for movies theaters. China town to one side and the west end theatres to the other. An area for celebrity spotting.

Neat looking buildings. I love the gold statues diving off of the building.

where did you take this picture from?

That is an interesting view but unless I am wrong, isn't it picaddily circus that we see in this picture?

I saw Gary Glitter in Leicester Square once. And hasn’t that story lost its lustre!

I had to open it up to see Jim' diving statues - they are quite magnificent. Is there a story behind them? When you look at the larger image it is astounding how many things in the picture are red. Quite a joy to look at.

This is Leicester Square. Taken from a building opposite the building currently being demolished.

Beautiful buildings! The sky is gloomy though.
