Negative Ions
Thanks for your visits while I have been away. I will try and catch up with everyone who left comments over the next few days.
Nothing quite like a bit of R&R (rest and relaxation). Stocked up on negative ions to deal to that cold that was hanging on.
Negative ions it seems were first recognised by a monk, Abe Bertholon, around 1789. He recorded the effects on people due to changes in electricity in the air. A century later a couple of scientists Elster and Geitel proved these theories. The existence of ions is recognised and how it happens can be explained. There seems to be agreement on the effects on us, however, a lively debate continues on the benefits of machines that create negative ions for improving our health.
I'll carry on getting mine from a bit of sea air.

What a fantastic photo. The way you have captured the foamy sea is brilliant!
Interesting info on the negative ions. Gorgeous image. Lovely subtle light and you can just feel the water gently ebbing.
Beautiful, Mo. Glad to hear the negative ions helped.
Good idea about negative ions. Would warm sea air do the trick as well? I cannot stand this cold anymore and I wish I could migrate to a warmer seaside country! Lovely shot. Ciao. Antonella
Lovely photo!
:)
Ah yes nothing like a bit of sea air for blowing the cobwebs away - and blowing a lot else too!
