You had your camera with you and that was prepared enough to capture this moment in time. Rule #1 is you can't get the picture if you don't have your camera. Well done!
Excatly what I've been saying that timing, spotting the potential and composing the image. It's a fabulos image especially with the background. It would be a fabulous timeless balck and white too.
One of those pictures you see as you are passing and have very little time to prepare to take.
