The past few days when we get a glimpse of the moon through the clouds it is beautiful like a Christmas bauble. On my way home last night I managed to capture the few moments of a break in the clouds. Whipped the gorillapod out of my bag and wrapped it around a bike stand. Shining down on the University College of London (UCL). The oldest university in England. Founded in 1826, the first to admit students of any race, class or religion and the first to admit women.

I have got one of those tripod but only the small one so I cannot use it with my SLR...I might invest in a big one...

The aurora borealis (northern lights) are more frequent in October and from February to March but in parts of northern Norway you can see the aurora almost every dark and clear night. In the summer the midnight Sun will make it impossible to see it. The aurora is most frequent and intense from 2200 to midnight, magnetic time.

I love this photo. The last time I was in London, I got to visit the campus of University college and meet one of the vice provosts. That was an interesting visit.
