January Theme Day - Best of 2008

Not the best but one of my favourites. For the beginning of a new year it can represent stepping out of the old and into the new.
A new and exciting year lays ahead of us.

Not a good start to the year. I set this up yesterday to post this morning. It didn't, don't know why. Maybe someone can tell me what may have caused the problem. So better late than never.

I too like this image. It jumped out at me from the portal. The swish of his jacket gives the image such drama. They look very elegant, don't they?

Portland Oregon Daily Photo sends you heartfelt wishes for the new year. May your 2009 be filled with good health, riches of the mind and heart, loved ones returning home, an increased respect for our fragile planet, and the cessation of wars across the Earth.

Your photo is great! I'm going to look for a chance to get a similar one here in Portland.

Mo, I love the image and it is perfect for your illustration of stepping into the new year. It takes a bit of bravery to shoot people in motion like this. Your photography in so many of your other shots draws me in. I'm hoping 2009 is brings you many great photo ops!

This is my favourite photo, too!!! It is so "international" it could have been shot anywhere. Nothing better to start the new year. All the best. Antonella

Happy New Year! Or maybe Merry New Year, to differentiate myself from the crowd...

I liked this one at the time, and still like it now.

"Louis" has been so busy with his new espresso shop, he hasn't had much time to visit, much less comment.

All best wishes to you this New Year!

A great choice, Mo - stepping out of the old and into the new as you say. Most impressive and telling a story.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy new year.

This one is wonderful! I have one question (perhaps you answered it first time around): where did she get those seamed stockings?? Very 1940's.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year! Looking forward to more of your fresh eyes on London in 2009.
