Windmill St

A beautiful building looking rather tired. An interesting street name.
As the name suggests, there was indeed a windmill here, alongside a pond. Around 1746 a smallpox hospital was established in the street. It very quickly became too small and moved to various sites to accommodate the growing number of patients.

A gorgeous building with such a dark history. What is it used for now?

Hi Mo, I've never seen this buiding before! It looks so oriental, not at all like London. Well spotted. Ciao. Antonella

That building has a lot of history! The details around the window are lovely.

A nice angle here.

Lovely. If tired, it looks like it is just waking up ... or perhaps just going to sleep.
