Those of you who follow my blog will know that London has been in full protest mode. After the weeks of build up, media saturation, and total over reaction. Not to mention, what decisions will really actually be made!!! Anyway ... some of you asked if I could take a picture of President Obama while he was here. So I parked myself (on more than one occasion) near, next to, in the vicinity of the places he was due to visit and I even climbed a tree at one point!!. Well Buck Palace (do you like that? Buck Palace. I have been here long enough to start using local language) was unachievable. Anyway back to the request. Too hard! sorry. Part of the security plans is the last minute departure from the advertised routes, and arriving at different times and different entrances. So, I am offering a view of the Mall (pronounced "Mal") when they might or might not have been taking this route on their way to the big meeting with HRH the Queen.
Bonus is ... this photo is free in full size to anyone who requests it. Just email me.

Nice perspective in this, Mo. Not much green grass yet though. Security, even though I can see its purpose, is a pain. Must be for Obama too. He only gets to talk to lickspittles.
Fantastic shot. I do love the mall. You are such a dedicated photo journalist! One time when I was visiting London my friend heard that the Queen was addressing Parliament so we staked ourselves out there to get a shot. We were lucky. Her big black car came right at us.
Nice shot. Can I show my American ignorance and ask what the green, white and orange flag is? I know it has the same colors as the Irish flag but I don't recall that flag having a seal in the middle.
Have a great weekend!
Great shot and great effort!
Lovely picture! Getting a nice picture of the Mall can be hard sometimes, due to traffi, but this looks great! If only the trees were green, but you can only ask the weather in London to cooperate so much....
Lovely avenue. Sorry you missed our President. Perhaps he was helping Queen Elizabeth download some tunes on the ipod he gave to her.
Ivy
It's the Maxican flag
Lovely shot of the Mall.
Don't worry Mo! You're forgiven. Then the TV news and the newspapers are full of pictures of President Obama and the others. Your shots, instead, are always so ... unusual, peculiar! Thanks for them. HAve a nice weekend.
I think I can see the main mans motorcade in the distance! lol!
Great photo! I have walked there a few times!
I'm not surprised you couldn't get a shot. The security must have been fierce. Instead we are treated to the magnificent vista that is neverending.
great pic ! i love it.. ogh.. i always hope someday i can get there !
The flags look so great on the side of the road. Stay away from trouble there!
I think I have seen this view on TV; I've never actually been to London. Great corridor of flags and they seem pretty large too.
great photo. Now what are your thoughts on Michelle and the Queen and the physical gestures between them. people have gone crazy over it.
I love that you've tied your SW Friday image in with the current theme of your blog posts. And the image of all the flags lining the Mall is a great one. Let's hope we can achieve a lasting unity. Lovely sky, too!
Janice.
Would imagine that it's easier to photograph a snowman in hell than to catch Obama if your not from press. Nice line of flags leading to nice sky. Great add to SWF. Have a safe weekend there!
Better than a picture of HRH herself!!
