Isolated showers I think they call them. They are those rain clouds that chase you. No matter where I am they are always right above me. I can see the clear sky just a block away. Especially on the days that I forget my umbrella.
Remember to visit other skywatchers around the globe
I find it funny when weather forecasters say things like 'There will be showers until lunchtime, followed by torrential rain. The torrential rain will peter out during the afternoon - to be followed by a thunderstorm. After the thunderstorm there will be intemittent showers until another weather system comes in from the west with more rain. Tomorrow will be much the same - so, a varied picture for the next few days!
Very fun shot! On an umbrella note, I left mine at home yesterday because they weren't really announcing rain, but then it was pouring when it came time for me to go home, so I nabbed the umbrella of a colleague who's on leave out of their office. They're announcing rain for today, so I get to go to work with two umbrellas...I'm imagining the looks I'm going to get already. Hey, maybe I just really, really don't want to get wet!
Beautifully captured Mo.....and yes our showers are usually so wonderfully timed....just leaving the house.....just when you have left a line full of washing.....just as you take your lunch break.
But my friends in Victoria, SA are still suffering terrible droughts and would love a few puddles no doubt
Isn't that just the way of it? Luckily for me, I'm drenched in sunshine at the moment over here in Connecticut. I hope some of my weather makes it your way!

I thought it was a canal at first (see my blog for Lancaster canal shots today). Good way to capture the spire.
