One of the newest of London's great parks. Battersea Park was officially opened by Queen Victoria in 1858. A place for the ever expanding population to chill-out. Here you could fight your duels, play sports hold markets or take the family for a breathe of fresh air.
During the war much of the park became allotments, allowing people to feed themselves. Since the 1980's with the aid of government grants the park has gradually been brought back to it's Victorian grandeur.

Sounds so relaxing!
I love the battersea park! especially the pagoda!
I love it, 150+ years old and one of the 'newest' parks.
Hopefully the family isn't getting that breath of fresh air nest to the duels. What a great park.
My House!!!
With the crisis they should turn the Park into allotments !
lovely
looks lovely and calm :-)
The Victorian grandeur sounds really nice, at least for a park!
Battersea area could do with some allotments though. It is so therapeutic to grow things! or at the very least maybe they should try out GreenGym there like they do on Hampstead heath.
