Today is Remembrance Sunday. The second Sunday in November is a day set aside to mark the anniversary of the end of the 1st World War at11:00 am on the 11th November 1918.
Red poppies are worn. Ceremonies will take place throughout the country.
I thought it was a day to remember all the dead in all the wars. But I was wrong, it seems. I came to know about this day just last year. It's so important not to forget what History teaches us. Impressive photo, Mo.
For Maria Grazia; it is held on the anniversary of the armistice of the First War, but it is to commemorate all the war dead. Especially poignant this year.
Lovely and touching photo Mo. In Canada we always have Remebrance Day on November 11th, no matter what day of the week it is so it's coming up in just a few days here.

Beautiful shot.
My back looks like a poppy today. I got so totally fried by the African sun.

Beautiful photo! Also a beautiful day to remember :)
Beautiful shot! I meant to go out and take some photos of the poppies myself, but I never made it in the end. Nice to see this here.
