This years London Marathon began more than a week ago with marathon efforts to get all the elite runners into London due to the no fly zone in the UK as a result of the volcano. The organisers chartered a plane to get those stranded in East Africa to London.The elite women was won by Liliya Shobukhava in 2hrs 22 mins.

(We had a couple of photos of a young English princess in todays VG- the first royal - who had done the run.)
Anyway, it looks like you had a good day for the marathon.
Great photo, Mo. I watched it on TV - it's fun watching other people being energetic whilst vegging out oneself! But I love the atmosphere you can sense - and the thousands raised for charity too.
I will be running Stockholm Marathon June 5.
London Marathon is one of my running highs.
I hope I will participate again in 2019
I can't imagine doing that in 2 hours and 22 minutes!
