Most telephone boxes in London will have sex calling cards such as these covering the walls. Recently discussions have been around a 'clean-up' before the 2012 Olympics, police and local authorities concerned that tourists will think the city is full of sex booths rather than a telephone to call home.
Apologies for no posting the past couple of days. No Internet. BT advised a damaged server was the cause of our area having no communication.

Well, at least the cards stay in style: the Union Flag, the sign for the Underground...
why take away local flavor?
I like you shot and the cards!
I think cleaning them so they don't stink is a greater priority over the calling cards... some of them reek!
lol I think it might be a lost cause, they'd probably just go back up as quickly as clean-up crews could take them down!
I am surprised that there are still phone booths in this day and age of mobile phones and the internet, although it seems even BT goes down sometimes. Glad you're back so I can get my daily fix of London!
but the tourists might need them!!
Aww, I was looking forward to your bridge photo. But then, there's always next week :D
That's funny. When I was in London last year, I wanted to get a picture of my son in one of those classic red telephone boxes. Of course he had to go inside, I quickly ushered him out once I saw what was posted in there!
Pay phones seem to be a thing of the past here!
I heard through the grapevine that young school children in London are now collecting them...Boris needs to sort this out.
"London calling... da-da-da-da-da"...
Most telephone boxes in London are grimy and stink of pee. I had to use one in Aldwych the other day - not an experience I'm likely to repeat in a hurry.
Nice shot, all the same.
