Pennies

An entry in the London design festival, this year, size + matter, by Paul Cocksedge titled Drop sits outside festival hall on the Southbank.

In the shape of a huge coin you are invited to drop your pennies on it. Make shapes and designs. At the end of the festival the pennies will all be given to Barnardo's Charity.

I'm intrigued as to how this works. How do the pennies stick?

Yeah, how do they adhere to that vertical surface?? Does it have weird magnetic properties? Should I be calling the Fringe division?? :)

Fabulous idea. Love the copper of her hair echoing the copper of the coins.

Great shot of a great idea for interactive art! I also love how the little girl's hair matches the pennies :o)

I was on the South Bank and missed this - how annoying. Hope I get the chance to see it before it closes, I assume it is temporary?

What a lovely, charitable idea. I second Pete and Sheila though, how do they stick!
