Chilly Morning

London is snowed in today. We really don't cope well with lots of snow. Airports closed, trains cancelled, schools closed. An early morning stroll along Regent's Canal, all I could see was how pretty it looked.

It certainly looks very pretty and the air is crisp and fresh. We're promised another week of cold weather then no doubt we'll return to damp and dismal days. No white Christmas in the south, I think;-)

Same thing here, although we are used to the snow!

This isn't a day to live on a barge, is it?

It looks lovely though. I was in London in 1981 or 2 cant remember exactly now - but it started snowing on 9 December and didnt stop till after Christmas. It was just so exciting for an African like me!

Pretty and chilly at the same time.

It's nice that you didn't have to take a train or airplane on a day like this! Lovely view along the canal :-)

I'd like to see London under snow, it never did when I was there!

A light dusting of snow is always pretty to see! Uh...well...light dusting for Canadians at least. It takes at least 15 centimeters to slow us down a bit and things don't really close down (meaning schools and airports) unless we get 25+ centimeters...or at least in Montreal. Toronto wimps out faster

I guess if you don't know how to deal with it, snow can really muck things up. It never really occurred to me that London wouldn't know what to do with snow. Stay warm.

You'd think that we would cope with snow better. I know we've had a number of warmer, wetter winters of late, but I remember snow six feet deep when I was a kid, so it's not like it's a totally new experience!

Maybe the time has come for an iceage, I hope not.

Very beautiful, even with the subdued colors of (near)winter.

In South London it has been snowing since Tuesday. At 25cm deep in some undisturbed areas. So no surprise that transport and service deliveries have been disrupted.

Looking out at the rear of the house is beautiful...all the trees touched with sparkling white snow. At the front...grey black nasty slush and pavements that resemble ice rinks. Not so good.

It's pretty though! And I could use the "closed" idea - a day off!
