When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
So begins the poem that inspires the women of a certain age who are members of the red hat society.
They look very happy with their outfits, very colourful.
ReplyDeleteGreat models, colors and event!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. ( I have seen it once, and it was COLD but soooooo nice to watch!)
They are so great! Wonderful picture.
ReplyDeleteWe used to get many a red hat lady in the small British tea room I worked in years ago. Love those smiling faces.
ReplyDeleteGood for them. Nice, bright and colorful photo.
ReplyDeleteThought for a minute the lady on the left with the bright smile was a member of the cast at Disneyland :-D
ReplyDeleteSure looks that they enjoy being members of that society!
ReplyDeleteI love that poem :)
ReplyDeleteI am not at 'that age' yet and I am not sure I would have the eccentric balls to pull it off.....but it gives hope that at least we won't be invisible
Happy faces. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI've seen many red had ladies in the Phoenix area but, I've never seen one with purple hair and Mickey Mouse ears! Now that is real chutzpah!
ReplyDeleteHa! That is so cute! I would love to do something grand and fun like that when I am older.
ReplyDeleteReally cool!
ReplyDeleteNow if this won't make one smile, nothing will!
ReplyDeleteI happened to be in Halifax, Nova Scotia a few years ago when the Red Hat Society descended upon the town. It's something to see.
ReplyDeleteBless the old dears! Whatever makes them happy and they sure look happy to me...
ReplyDeleteThey sure look happier than yesterday's guys!
ReplyDeleteI never really understood the point of the red hat society..
ReplyDeleteOh, we have them here, too. My daughter's godmother is one. A bit daft but joyous.
ReplyDeleteI love her purple wig and ears! They sure seem to be having a fun time! The Red Hat Society exists over here, too!
