Although a bit quieter than most Sundays, the Colombia Road Flower Market was still pretty lively. Go a little later and you'll get great bargains. Bunches of flowers for a fiver or a tenner.
Greenwich and Burrough market are good too. what strikes me as funny though is the way the East End has expanded. My Grandad (one of 'em) was born in Bow which of course is as East End as you can get. His wife was born in Poplar which, in 1880, was Middelsex! Hackney now is of course the East End but once upon a time it was considered to be 'north' of the East End. Full of useless info me!
I´ll try to rememember this market next time in London. Happy New Year, Mo

ReplyDeleteTo Market to Market... Looks like a lovely way to spend the afternoon. It will give me something to dream on for a little while.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I get there I feel like spring time
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice place to go during the dull times of winter!
ReplyDeleteGreenwich Market was really quiet too. Loads of folk are having time off after Christmas.
