A tragic loss of a very young life. Amy Winehouse died on the weekend. A portrait yesterday, one of many I suspect that we will see in the next few weeks.
I find the mural indicative only, not resembling her very much at all if the eye shadow were removed. I really don't find her death sad at all. Sad for her family perhaps. But even they expected it, I gather. I believe it is what Winehouse wanted.
You are right, there will be many others. She was in the demographic of graffiti artists. In Prague, there is a long wall devoted to graffiti about John Lennon. It is amazing to see.

Sad indeed. She was a good artist. Always sad that so many talented artists need drugs to be good.

ReplyDeleteI was talking to friends on Saturday night about the loss of such talent . So sad. That is an amazing painting going up in such a short time.
