Tucked away in a small garden of St James Church in Piccadilly is this peace statue. The garden was created to commemorate the bravery of Londoners during the second world war when the area was heavily bombed and many lives lost.
I thought her appropriate today as we woke up to the news of the terrible event in Norway.
It's a wonderful church and has all kinds of events there, or at least it did last time I looked. Must check again. Thing about London is that there is SO MUCH to see and do!!
ReplyDeleteYour information is very needed for my sister study. I really appreciate your efforts and I will be waiting for your further write ups thanks once again.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful Mo, and just right for today. Wouldn't it be nice to wake up in the morning and hear that there had been no tragedies overnight. I wonder if that will happen one day!
ReplyDeleteLeaves one shaking, doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteTragedy follows tragedy. Appropriate tribute.
When will we wake up and realize what we're doing, MO? Excellent post.
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxing weekend.
You have a most appropriate image today, Mo. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteA perfect image for today! I love the mystical effect you've used on this photo.
ReplyDeleteI am with you Mo.
ReplyDeleteVery apt. It has been a tragic time and my thoughts are with the people of Norway..
ReplyDeleteA perfect post for the day, Mo!
ReplyDeleteMost apt, Mo. We all wish for peace and Norway has been hit so hard.
ReplyDeleteTragedies like the Blitz and the Norway atrocities so often show us both sides of the human spirit - the evil and the brave and generous.
