Blackfriars Bridge

A progress report on work on the new station at Blackfriars Bridge. Due to finish late next year the finished station will be the first to have entry and exit from both sides of the river. I know it will be great and the new station entrance on the north side is beginning to take shape however I can no longer see Tower Bridge from here. Maybe we will be able to see from the inside of the new concourse.

Very interesting. The demolished bridge to the side was the first railway in London I believe. London, Chatham and Dover Railway!

I once had to get off a ThamesLink train at Blackfriars instead of London Bridge (next stop) because of the classic "signal problems." The sole station worker sent me out a door in the middle of nowhere (Puddle Dock). It took me nearly 25 minutes to get to London Bridge, in 30C weather. I'm glad to see TFL recognising Southwark, the largest borough, is actually a part of London.

I like the bridges and the parks in London!

An interesting concept. London's rail and tube systems are envied by many people who live elsewhere.
