New Farmers Market

Farmers markets are not a new idea, in fact they are the traditional way of selling produce. The earliest evidence was in the Middle East about 10,000 years ago, people would meet in the town square to trade their produce.
In recent years there has been a resurgence of farmers markets in London, with produce sold either directly by the farmer or brought directly from the farm. Great raw ingredients and ready to eat are all on sale. One of the best things about the farmers markets (and there are many) is the high quality of what is on sale.
Tom and Amanda from Priors Hall Farm are truly modern farmers, and like many modern farmers they have had to diversify to be viable. Everything they do is organic. They raise pedigree pigs, they grow the grain the pigs eat, and from their house butchery they produce the various meat cuts and small goods like sausages and bacon.
They get up at 4:30 am to come to London on Thursdays for this new farmers market at Byng Place (Bloomsbury). Tom told me they will also cater for functions.
Oh and I can tell you from personal experience that those bangers and mash are truly delicious.
