The new concourse at Kings Cross station officially opened yesterday. The orientation of people has moved to the west of the station making the connection between Kings Cross and St Pancras easier and more logical. Now spacious and light with shops restaurants and cafes making your wait a pleasant affair.When the renovations first began at St Pancras we were told this was to be a destination station with people wanting to come to the station for all that was there and surrounding it. it is well on the way to achieving this.

It looks terrific. In some ways, I like to think of London as timeless and unchanging, but when I think about it, London has actually seen a lot of architectural change in recent years. This is a very well done space.

Arup were the engineers on this project and have worked on similar 'diagrid' structures for Fosters, eg the Gherkin, the British Museum roof and the Hearst building in New York.
Angie: the architects will be pleased to hear you say that as that was their intention, with separate areas for arrivals and departures (this concourse).

I was there on Thursday - it's great. So spacious, it has a real 'wow' factor.
