I'm back from chasing the elusive northern lights. With a sky like this my entire trip they stayed well and truly hidden from us, despite the most solar activity in awhile. We'd gone past the arctic circle to increase our chances of seeing them. Humbug they were visible further south on these days.
I'll have to try again next time. So the best I can over you is a glimpse of a pretty red house through the constant falling snow.
Update:
Here is what we did instead:

I have never seen a "Norrsken" as we call them. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Tromsø.
Oh what a disappointment you didn't see the Northern Lights. I saw a blog lately where somebody had beautiful pictures made of it in Tromso.
Not really my favorite weather on that second photo!
What an adventure to try to see the Northern Lights! Next year for sure - But do love your image of the red house in the snow.
What an adventure you went on! Too bad you didn't get to see them. When I was young, I remember my parents driving way out in the country and parking the car to watch for the lights. That was many years ago when you didn't have to go so far north to catch a glimpse.
Ooh, that is a really amazing picture! can you post it larger?
Looks like fun!!
Beautiful photo :-) I was on a snowshoeing holiday in Norway a couple of winters back and saw lovely cabins in the snow like that. Also tried dog sledding... not for the fainthearted (or those with a keen sense of smell... those huskies are flatulent!)
Read Bill Bryson's Neither Here Nor There. You'll feel much better about your trip.
That's quite the adventure! Amazing pics!
Ah well - I am sure it was fun.
But I can see you enjoyed yourself. It must have been a wonderful trip.
I saw the Northern Lights only once many years ago and it was fabulous. I hope you have better luck next time!
lovely!!!!!!!
wow!
We were there 2-5 March. Missed the dog sledges, but had great time on skidoos at night.
