On the banks of the River Lea, Three Mills was one of eight or nine tidal mills, with this the largest in the world supplying flour to London in the 12th and 13th centuries. It's very different to the kind of mill I have been seeing around Yorkshire over the last couple of days; imposing stone built textile mills.
These mills don't have much protection from high water, do they? I look forward to your summer posts.
