City Birds

A coal tit singing in the city, with a couple of pigeons and me in the audience. It looks very peaceful and rather charming. You know there is a but coming don't you? Well, it's back to the rain again. There's been so much of it that the rats have come up from their hiding holes. Just below the birds was the biggest rat I've ever seen, sitting out in the open, bold as you please. I wasn't keen on hanging around to take its portrait ... so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I have never seen a bird in cage hung outside before.

No picture of the rodent? Oh, rats!

And a question: Does the caged bird sing?

Seems like it's been raining all over the world!

Glad you photographed the birds instead.
When I spent two years working in Chicago, I used to see rats roaming the downtwon streets quite often and it always gave me a creepy feeling.

What a beautiful shot - hidden rats and all. They need a few more cats and birds of prey around.

Glad you skipped the rat. Nice bird feeder to keep the squirrels etc out!

Eek! This is so serene & gorgeous, belies the rat drama lying just beneath. (Big city rats are the worst!)
