Thousands lined the streets for the final parade for the jubilee weekend.
The news reports are full of how wonderful the event was. Around the outside was a different story. Barriers were in place to prevent thousands from getting in. Police corralled people sending them on long walks. Children were disappointed with many in tears. I witnessed a group of elderly people break through a set of barriers in sheer frustration as they saw large empty spaces on the inside of the barriers.
This young girl had her special day however when Mexican TV filmed her and interviewed her dad.
The Queen has more jubilee functions today. She must be worn out by the festivities. I've certainly reached jubilee overload and will be back to normal life from today.

I can understand that this jubilee celebration might be a bit too much!:)
But obviously fun for some.
This girl looks both cute and smart, so I can understand why the TV crew filmed her.
Yes, I'm a bit jubileed out now too. It was as much fun from the comfort of my armchair in front of the TV. I imagine keeping everyone safe from crushing would have been a major consideration; there were scary numbers of people there.
Mini Queenie
I think of the poor (old) couple, it is too much festivities with one already in hospital. They should have a quiet sit with their feet up now.
That little girl is royaly decked out!
What a cutie!
You don't get too much of a rest though with the Olympics coming up soon.
How cute is this little girl! I think of all the time she sat patiently having her face painted for her time in the spotlight.
Mo, I love this post. It is the behind the scenes that most people don't ever know.
I wondered how people were managing to go about their business. Some, surely, must have had to work and travelling must have been a nightmare.
great portrait of this little girl ! :)
Such great pomp! Hope you had fun.
Another terrific photo and a great jubilee tour - thank you!
Nice hat!
