The Tall Sailing Ships

The tall sailing ships began to assemble the sea side of Tower Bridge yesterday in preparation for today's pageant along the Thames.
Over a 1,000 ships will travel along the river today.
Can you all please wish the rain away.

Yes, it will be amazing no matter the weather - but what more fitting British weather than some rain!

Beautiful! And I watched it on TV!!! The Queen must have been cold and wet, and still she was elegant and sophisticated. Quite a lady.

These ships look great with the bridge behind.

I was out today so I missed seeing the parade of ships today. I hope it is shown on TV tonight. It must be exciting being in London right now.

I stayed up last night & watched this amazing spectacle - wondered where you were, Mo!! Hope you didn't get too wet. Blogger doing it's 'thing' again so I can't see your pic :(

Lovely, lovely capture! A thousand ships - makes me think of that Iliad bit about the war ships heading to Troy. (Hm, you made me think of Helen of Troy and QEII in the same breath :) Hope the festivities were fun!
