London's Special Xmas Tree

Every year since 1947 the City of Oslo has given a Xmas tree to the people of London as a tribute for British support during WWII.

Norway does this each year. One is put on the Mound in Edinburgh each year also. 'The Shetland bus' was very important during the war.

I saw it on a trip to London last week. It did indeed look beautiful last Friday night with a choir of school children singing Christmas carols and songs for charity.
One of 9 trees in the UK given by various Norwegian cities. Ours in Newcastle comes from Bergen.

Three years ago I was standing RIGHT where you were looking in the same direction and admiring the tree. Love it there this time of year. Miss it dearly!
