I've always loved figureheads...I particularly like the Muslim looking dude about to draw his sword.Nicola.
Hard to believe these pieces have endured after long exposure to salt water and other threatening elements. Wonderful sculptures.
It's too bad these are no longer made on regular basis - what a display!
Few years back we visited National Martime Museum and this revisit was a breath of fresh air. Although on a January day areas were under development for the new season but we enjoyed the Maritime London gallery and the display of figure heads
