Victoria House

Most of London was divided up and given by various monarchs to a handful of families, the area of Bloomsbury was owned by the Duke of Bedford.  In 1920 the Liverpool Friendly Society bought a parcel of land to build Victoria House, however some of the leaseholders refused to vacate their houses.  As a result the building was originally built in an unusual shape, with the middle part not completed until more than a decade later.

Must have looked a bit unusual.

What an interesting history. Thanks for the link, the pictures on that site are amazing. Such a contrast between the inside and the outside.
