For those involved in the ceremony it is serious work as was seen by the rehearsals taking place on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral yesterday afternoon.

I wish I could be there, I love a parade, and the Queen will be there. I also am an admirer of Margaret Thatcher.

I heard on the news this morning that it went off without a hitch. I'll have to watch the news coverage later today.
I can understand a state funeral for Churchill as he unified the country during the war. But this woman divided the country, ruined areas like South Wales, the North of England by taking away the main industries thus causing extreme hardship to communities and the families. from which they have never recovered. SHe also created a generation whose prime objective was greed and once of the reasons for the present day banking crisis. Will this type of funeral be a precedent for all ex Prime Ministers who die in the future.

Well, take what Dave said and sprinkle "not" in each sentence and you have my opinion. Mrs. Thatcher saved a country that was becoming economically irrelevant.
