John Wesley was the founder of Methodism. The house where he lived the latter part of his life is now a museum, furnished with many of his original pieces of furniture and artifacts. The drawing room is where he entertained his visitors and wrote many of his letters. The bureau on the left has a secret compartment where it is rumoured he concealed sensitive letters from his wife Molly - who were those letters from or to .. we wonder??. Hardly surprising his marriage did not last.
