How's your bike? Had it checked recently? Tires? Brake Pads? Chains? Making any noises? Good grief that's only the start of the list. The good news is for a couple more weeks you can have your cycle checked out by professionals for free!
Bikeworks and
Barclays cycle hire have teamed up to provide roadside cycle safety checks until 3 July.
Where and when? Every Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at:
- Tower Hamlets - Cable Street and Cannon Street
- Kensington & Chelsea - Chelsea Bridge south side
- Hammersmith & Fulham - Eel Brook Common
- Lambeth - Kennington Park road junction with Brixton Road
For more details check out their
facebook page.
Great idea, they should do that here in NYC...instead we have the new Citibike public bike program where the software for using the system fails all the time...
ReplyDeleteRiding a bicycle in Midtown Manhattan is something of a daredevil stunt anyway...well, at least most people wear helmets now
I'm impressed with this free service. It's an excellent way of giving back to the community.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea - hope it spreads.
ReplyDeleteI would not use that.
ReplyDeleteThey would put my bike to sleep....
If they will repair it for free that would be a great service. One of my bikes is in need for some repair work.
ReplyDeleteA good idea.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, bikes are always taken for granted, we have to MOT cars from 3 years on and bikes, being mechanical, also wear out.
ReplyDeleteWish more places would offer services like this for free once in a while. We've a "Cyclab" but I do believe there is some payment involved, at the very least an obligation to enroll in some course or volunteer with them in exchange for service.
