Milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, the milkman delivers to your door. Yes in central London the milkman still delivers to your door and in glass bottles. I don't know of too many places that this happens.
Mostly these are franchises now. There was one miserable soul I often saw when a postman. I passed him at 4:30 each day, miserable git he was. Glass bottles also.

ReplyDeleteNice old tradition.
ReplyDeleteIt's not done in my part of Canada. The milkman is just a memory to me. I like the way you got him to pose.

No, milkmen at the door is something from the past for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a rare sight. I haven't seen a milkman since I was a little kid.
ReplyDeleteReally! I can't remember seeing milk deliveries anywhere since the 1950s or maybe the 1960s.
ReplyDeleteWe had milk deliveries in the suburbs of Chicago in the 1960's and they discontinued it after that.
ReplyDeleteThey had it in the outer Bronx in NYC for some time after WW II but that too is of course long ago
Very nostalgic, seeing that milkman
What a great portrait!
ReplyDeleteNice to see it is still a milk delivering in the big city.
