More City Dining

A quick pop back into the city (see previous posts earlier this week), this time the gherkin.  Completed in 2003, this was one of the first to be given a quirky nickname.  It has become one of the most recognised of the city's modern buildings.

It sure does stand out from the rest of the surroundings. Someone was definitely thinking outside of the box.

I like those nicknames, Amsterdam people have the same humor.

Before the gherkin it was the Lloyds of London building that was unique. I've never heard a nickname for that one.

It is going to take more time before I begin to like this building.
