Man & Horse

Yeeha! Came across the man and horse along Regents Canal towpath.  There is nothing around them to give any insight as to the artist or history of the installation.  Therefore you can all make up a wonderful story as to who and what they may represent.

Seen better days; puts me in mind of the 'puppets' in the stage show of War Horse. Great show, loved it.

Seems odd not to have any reference to the artist at all. Nice looking sculpture though.

Its was an old canal boat accident and the bargee and his horse were killed when the barge exploded. This statue commerates the event on this spot. The ghost of the bargee and his horse can be heard walking the towpath on dark stormy nights. The best night of all to hear them is the 31st of October.
