This is not how I remember playgrounds. I spied a couple of dads who clearly thought so too and were sneaking a wee play alongside their kids. Must admit I was tempted but didn't have a child with me to justify climbing on those coloured bars.
Mo, my trip to London has been on and off for the past few months but, last night I bought a ticket so it's official. I'll be visiting the great city of London in November. I'd love to meet you while I'm there. I arrive on the 8th and will be there for 9 days.
This playground is typical of what I see these days. Fancy, but no kids there. "Back when I was young," we had slides, swings, seesaws, jungle gyms and other very simple equipment and the playgrounds were filled with kids. But today someone has decided that the equipment we used is unsafe -- baloney! -- and instead they install "pretty" and unused stuff.
Only Dads allowed.
ReplyDeleteI've thought about doing the same.

I'd have been tempted too, makes my childhood playgrounds look rather primitive!

ReplyDeleteIt's actually an outdoor gym, not a children's play area!
