The notice is delightful. Although the Thames is wide it is, nowadays, tame. The idea of it having islands and overflowing and being a danger (well, in some ways it still is though that's not what one thinks of on first view) . . . a jolt to the imagination!
Incidentally, I think I've been remiss in letting all my Pictures Just Pictures followers know I now post at Message in a Milk Bottle I've had a break over the summer and am back.
