Sanctuary in the City

The very peaceful grounds of the church of St Mary Abchurch a quiet spot to contemplate away from the bustle of the city workers in London's square mile.
The original church was lost in the great fire but was rebuilt in the 12th century.  It was hit by a bomb during WWII but was restored in the 1950's.

Those courtyards are always so peacefully indeed. You don't hear the sounds of the busy city.

Quiet urban sanctuaries are a necessity.

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. However just imagine if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts more, pop! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this website could certainly be one of the best in its niche. Awesome blog!

I passed a couple of quiet places like this when I was walking the square mile. It might even have been this place.

It is a very peaceful place, just looking at it.

it's always good to have a little bolt-hole in the midst of the city.
