Edward VII


The king who gave us the "Edwardian era" might not feel too happy at the entrance of an underground station.  However he was popped there 15 years before the station was built.

The setting does somewhat detract fro his splendour - or maybe it emphasises that we all should know we are merely flesh . . .

He might at least expect to have been at Regents Park or Victoria - But Tooting Broadway .......

Not the most "Royal" location for him but he can watch the people coming and going.

An unusual place to find royalty, for sure. But I guess he was king of the whole country - including Tooting.
