The British Postal Museum is more of an archive than a museum (there is another venue out at Acton with vehicles and postboxes), however if you are interested in the history of Royal Mail this is the place to visit. Tucked away in Mt Pleasant these archives go back to 1636. At present they have a photograph exhibition of the Post Office secret underground railway that ran from Paddington to Whitechapel. The driverless electric train was opened in 1927 and closed in 2003.

I do enjoy stamps, used to collect them when I was younger
Sounds interesting.
You know that is place I would like to visit sometime
1636? That is quite a lot of history to cover.
Think that is one place I would like to see too. Thank you for sharing it.
And those old stamps are worth an absolute fortune.
That place will be closed now RM has been privatised. It will cost too much for the shareholders!
Mo, you go to the most fascinating places!
Fascinating!
We had one here in our Museum of Civilization, but the museum is undergoing some big changes over the next couple of years at the behest of the idiot currently occupying the Prime Minister's office.
