A grand old building of yesteryear. The Ealing grand town hall a grade II historic building is up for grabs. The council is now housed in a modern square block next door. The cash strapped local body wants to sell the 150 year building, to a developer. Hotel and designer apartments are the options they are considering.
In fact much of the street is being torn down and being rebuilt with modern tower blocks of hotels. I counted 5 within a single kilometre. Where are the art galleries and museums? Bah who needs those? Its money the council is after.

As long as they don't bulldoze this lovely building down!
I'm always surprised when another hotel pops up. How many do we need, it's a fine looking building.
Better a hotel than rebuilt!
London has lots of old Town Halls in obscure places, often filthy and run down.
SO beautiful!
Oh what a shame it would be to lose such a beautiful building. It would make a gorgeous art gallery or museum. It's all about the money these days.
Stunning with sun on it. And quite a backdrop for your 3 shoppers.
No I don't know how we need so many hotels either. And I wouldn't be sorry if Ealing Town Hall was bulldozed; it's a horrible building inside: dark, dingy and depressing. Just because it's 150 years old doesn't mean it has to be kept especially when there are many better examples of that age. We can't keep everything! I'd much rather see it demolished and a decent block of affordable apartments put up in its place.
It is a shame the local council can't see the value of doing something productive with it.
Great architecture!
A very familiar story No, let's hope someone sympatico to the arts buys this wonderful old building.
As long as they don't demolish the building then that's fine. Demolish the council yes, there are afew which could go
It is a beautiful building. I hope it finds a good re-use.
It happens too often and almost everywhere...
