An English Bird

Apparently Britain doesn't have a national bird and so ornithologist David Lindo wants to rectify this situation.  His own favourite would be the blackbird.  But he wants you all to vote for your choice, and has set up a website with the ten birds he has selected as likely candidates.

Now which one would you pick?  The barn owl, robin, wren, maybe a swan?  To check them all out and cast your vote visit his site here.

We have the same situation in Sweden. I am yet to vote.

Birds have far more sense than to recognise national boundaries.

I would have thought the Raven as that is what is at the Tower of London

Interesting that there isn't one named already.

I had a look around- Canada doesn't have a national bird either, though each province and territory has one designated for them.

a little haphazard ... the construction looks solid but the placement looks precarious (smile) ... now I'm off to vote.

The white-throated dipper is Norway's national bird.

Well, I did not know, until you made me think about it.

Thanks to you and Google.

My husband and I think of ROBIN as British:)
