Most big cities have a vibrant Chinatown, London is no exception. There are the restaurants, some good some average. The stores where you can buy anything from dried fish, weird stuff in packets, fresh exotic fruits and vegetables and all the authentic cook ware you'll ever need to make your own Asian meal. Then there are the festivals; dancing dragons, drums and waving ribbons. Chinatown is a place we love and seek out in our big cities.
Chinatown London is under threat according to recent news reports. The developers are moving in, rents are becoming out of reach for many businesses in Soho, and the new shiny apartments are springing up all around. What will London 2020 look like Do you suppose?

Never knew thay had one, must watch out if I'm upi there
I remember eating here many years ago. Great value, good food. The restaurant then had communal tables and when you sat down they repaced your portion of the paper table cloth with another portion and brought you a huge pot of tea while you ordered.
Had a wonderful time around the area. Great lunch as well.
Many years ago I had a delicious meal in this area. It would be a shame to lose it's charm.
I imagine that's a problem throughout London- developers driving up the prices of everything beyond their realistic worth. At least this portion of Chinatown looks inviting. We also have a vibrant Chinatown.
It would be a real loss if Chinatown is forced out. My guess is that the Chinese community would find a less expensive neighborhood and reconstitute itself.
Yes, I have seen many, In Japan, New York, Simgapore, love them ! But not seen the one in London... shame of me !
Even, I have work there 5 years. Did it exist already before 1972 ???
