Heathrow was relatively quiet yesterday, but maybe it was just this terminal. The debate for a new runway has heated up again. Should Heathrow have a new runway or would it be better at Gatwick. Boris (London's mayor and now MP ) favoured building one in the Thames Estuary. Locals at Heathrow are very anti the Heathrow option not only for the increased flights but the additional traffic on the roads. Last month more than 6 million passengers passed through here. Whatever the final outcome there will be mixed reactions.

We have a similar discussion about Bromma airport. Too close to Stockholm for some people. Someone flew a drone at Slussen yesterday and that was all it took to close down the airport for half an hour or so.
How the jet set live!
That is one very busy and very, very big airport. On my last trip there, my cab driver dropped me off at the wrong terminal and I to figure out how to get to the right one which seemed miles away.
It's a huge airport and I can understand why locals wouldn't want it extended any more than it is. I was one of the 6mill passengers who passed through Heathrow last year & would have to say I arrived and departed without any hitches.
Adelaide & Beyond
Are you taking off again?
At present, our airport's only pressing issue is the notion of getting in the commuter train service right to the terminal.
