Obsessive love, murder, intrigue, and high society - a bit camp, a bit naughty, gambling, and debauchery, so royalty naturally! Where did I go? To the opera in the most beautiful Colosseum in Covent Garden, the home of English National Opera (ENO). I watched, listened to, and was almost part of the Queen of Spades - a story by Pushkin that leaves 50 shades of grey looking like a teenage novel of only mild madness.
Sadly, the opera season has finished now, but come to London in September when it all starts again (and when the weather is generally at its best anyway) and you will be able to see and hear some pure magic in a theatre built especially for opera.
Here is the link to the season

Good idea, september and the opera:)
Looks GRAND and it is GRAND.
I have only been there once..... not the best seat up on the side,
but next time I will go for a better place to sit.
Grand it is.
Fabulous shot, what a great building, I too have enjoyed the occasional opera there..
Wow, that ceiling is gorgeous! Sounds like quite a story was told. I haven't been to the opera in years but, I always enjoy it when I go.
An exquisitely beautiful ceiling!
Such a beautiful ceiling. A nasty opera? Tell us more.
