I read an article the other day that stated that one in five of the UK population has a tattoo. That increases to one in three for the younger generation. What are the stats in your area?
I confess that I do not know the stats for my area re. tattoos. Not a fan so not that interested. What possesses people to overdo, esp since our culture does not historically honour them as some cultures do?
I tried to check but, could only find an article that dates back to 2010 saying that 40% of millennials have at least one tattoo and over 75% of them have more than one. I would guess it's more than that now.
Someone loves to display detailed tattoos. In answer to your question on my Sketchy Songlines blog, all the images are originally photos given a pencil sketch filter.
I don't know the statistics, but Sharon's information seems about right. Some tattoos are OK. But, when I see a young person with tattoos all the way down their arms and creeping up their necks, I worry that they are making themselves unemployable for the rest of their lives.

I read a few years ago that Stockholm was the tattoo Capitol of the world.

I have no idea, though I do see some people with visible tattoos. I don't see the appeal of them.
